Taylor Tracy is a writer proudly based in New Jersey and represented by Jordan Hamessley at New Leaf Literary and Media. She graduated from Drew University with a degree in English and Art History and from New York University with a master’s degree in individualized studies and a concentration in “Affect, Community and Identity.” Academically, she enters into conversations in literature, critical theory, affect theory, gender and sexuality studies, visual culture, digital studies and media studies and communications. She hopes to work in theatre administration and marketing in New York City. If you want to know what you should be seeing on a stage near you, she will be more than happy to let you know.
When she’s not talking up the next best musicals and plays or trying to understand the political economies of cultural institutions or the way we form intense emotional connections to the media and culture we love, Taylor writes books for kids and teens. She loves to write heart-warming, funny and sweet books about kids and teens learning how to speak up for themselves, navigate the turbulence of young love and friendship and become comfortable with who they are on various levels. She also loves to write about food, musical theatre, knitting, the beach and a host of other topics that she has probably done 2am deep dives on Wikipedia about.
Taylor is passionate about crafting diverse stories for kids and teens. In particular, she is passionate about queer representation and mental health representation. Anxious, ace girls like herself are in almost everything she writes. She also specializes in #OwnVoices ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) representation.
Taylor loves penguins, ocean waves and iced mocha lattes. She hates most foods, being late for anything and the Oxford comma.
